ciff youth 2019

  Things that caught my eye at Ciff Youth. When young in the '70/'80 Jens Storms bag always take you down memory lane. Bigger bags and pencil case was new to me. Pinecone was new to Ciff - a tumbling furniture/pillow among others, that had a soft cover, for the kids to play on, from resting as a newborn to toddlers to jump from and balancing while playling. Washable and easy to stack into a block.
LiiLu a German brand that is all about natural colors, organic and sustainable.


A book of Magic and Dreams at Soft Gallery - could not resist this dark velvet top.

LuckyBoySunday alway a fun visit in so many ways.


New inspiring brand from Barcelona Spain "Weekend house kids" designed by Cristina, so much fun, great quality and all made in Spain.


New wallpapers from Ferm living kids, illustrated by Katie Scott with beautiful animals. Rugs for the floor or wall (on the back of the rug, is a strap to hang the carpet), inspired by  sea creatures, for the kids room or for the bathroom.

20 years of bold mixes

In a mix of Christmas spirit and 20 years of designing lamps, furniture and interior accessories Design by Us opened they door last week for a sneak peak of their news to come. Funky stribes and wall lamps that will soon come with a blue iris - great idea to ad a crystal iris to the lamps. (pict. 3-4 with a white iris). See them all alive at M&O this spring. new reflections

News from Reflections Copenhagen. Press release last week with morning coffee and breakfastbowl from "bowl 37". Decadent, art-deco inspiration are just some of the words that were said about the new cabinets (pict.1-2). Handcrafted boxes made from MDF and Brass and decorated with melamic and a finishing touch of crystal coat. They come in 6 different sizes and patterns, and will be at M&O this spring.

christmas at Flying Tiger

Christmas preview at Flying Tiger – so many new Christmas ornaments unique to Flying Tiger – glitter hotdogs, colorful parrots, dogs and colorful and glittery peacocks in blue and white. Candy canes balloons, glass candy canes and so many other glitter glass ornaments for Christmas.

Paper for all your Christmas gift and matching ribbons, like pink glitter paper, paper with peacock feather and gift paper with classic Christmas colors like red, green and gold.
Lots of wooden news – amazing buildings blocks and kitchen utilities just to mention some.

Colorful and playful as you would expect.

apple feast

Maybe last change for inviting friends over for an apple feast – so we have decorated the table for fall and have gone for the simple look ... Picked a few colorful apple branches arranged them at each side of the center piece with freshly picked appels. Cover the table with a white linen tablecloth and set the table with plates from Ikea and paper plates from the Fabel A. Finish the look with cloth napkins and an apple as placecard.

How to make apple chips / snacks:

Dried apples, with a star in the middle
Are good as snacks, "candy" or gifts.

You will need:
Apples - red peel gives a nice result, but most of the apples can be used.
powdered sugarand cinnamon
Baking paper

Here's how:
Wash the apples and remove the stalk. If you want a"stars" in the middle then keep the core.
Cut the apples into thin slices, the thicker the more bites.
Place them on the baking paper. You can choose to sweeten them by sprinkling powdered sugar on the apples.
Alternatively, you can sprinkle the apples with cinnamon or bake them a la neutral.
Bake the apple slices in the oven (preferably a hot air oven) at about 90-110 degrees for approx. 2-3 hours. As the oven is heated differently, keep an eye on the apple rings.

Once the rings are done, put them on spears, paper straws or on a string and make a wreath.
Store in airtight container, if you there are any left.

..... walking through Copenhagen after Ciff Kids, small things like this beautiful decorated coffee minivan and Ganni Kiosk pop up store makes the city alive.

Finishing the day by visiting Holly go lightly in their newly opened shop in Borgergade, a lot more space for great interior, beauty and humor that complement their universe so well. Paper flowers arrangement by Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen

simplifying a christmas heirloom

The other day when I Christmas shopping with my family in Malmö I came around these candle light holders "WHIRLABOUT" from the Dutch design company De Intuïtiefabriek. I was amazed, I love the way they have transformed and simplified a to me known and beloved Christmas item "the Spinning Chime Candle Holder". They made a purely Christmas item in to an everyday design item for the modern home, with success.

3daysofdesign in copenhagen

Tomorrow 3 days of design will open – all around Copenhagen you will be able to see workspaces, shops and new locations showing Danish and international design.

I will be looking forward to see Cabinet and File Under Pop  file under pop and cruse around the sea of inspiration.

tamed nature - a wreath for the outdoor and for christmas

Every year so many wreath are made to welcome your guest at the door steps. Wreath take so many forms, colors and designs. These wreath are made about 7 years ago, still looking good - if made today the styling might have been different and the wreath less symetrik.

arrange your ice cream

A whole lot of years back Sofie (the photographer) and I had the opportunity to style and inspire parents to make playful ice cream decoration for birthdays or friday "candy" for a danish kids magazine. A timeless idea, where you need ice cream of various flavours and one or more of the following ingredients: sprinkles, candy, desiccated coconut with colour, ice cream cones and fruits. When I arrived at Formland this summer – I had a pleasant surprise when I entered the hall where the essence of Hay talent award was situated.
33 talented designers were displaying their design, in a different and very inspiring way. Each design had its own house. The house had two sections, one where the design was displayed, and in the other end a sleeping and work area.  Each plywood house came with a bed, desk, duvet covers, lamp, chair, hanger and a shelf  (all HAY design)
How the designer and in some case designers, wanted to display and style their house was up to them. The result was apart of amazing new designs, also a great way of styling a small home and small workspaces.
During the 4 days long fair the designers lived at the fair in “their houses”.

mobile simplicity

Well - it has been quiet at the blog - sorry for that. Now it is summer and I hope that I will been back in september with new post and energy.

ikea ps 2014

     

IKEAs PS collection is alway something to wait for and soon there will be several news from IKEA PS 2014 near you. (In Denmark the 25 april.) Above you see some of my favorites - a balance bench I have to have for the garden for all the balancing kids. The bench immediately gave me a feeling of something I knew, it was the back of the chair, same design as the handle of a kick sledge, which is an ancient Scandinavian means of transport. :)
The garden table I would love to have, it is easy to fold and I will use it inside and outside, when guest are around.

a woolen heart for your love

I love Wollfiller and their ideas. My best woolen cardigan has prolonged its life several years because of their ideas.Today Design Sponge feature a series about DIY hearts one of them is how to make woolen hearts for valentine day. Super idea why not take your loved ones beloved old sweater and add a heart any color any shape - just for the love. Old or new sweater will still be full of love.
